Wedding season is fast approaching… are you ready for another season of events? At Heritage Prairie Farm, we have experienced outdoor and indoor weddings in all types of weather.
From hot and sunny in the garden, to cool and rainy in the barn, each season brings with it unique challenges, but also opportunities for beauty and – most importantly – fun!
We’re an all-inclusive wedding venue, so we’ve got you covered whether you’re planning, standing in, or attending a wedding. We spoke with our Wedding Coordinator about Spring, Summer & Fall weddings, and she shared her tips below:
SPRING
Rainy Spring Days:
“Don’t let a little rain ruin your day! The barn is a great back up for your ceremony, the perfect combination of rustic and romance. Plus, we have some fun, clear umbrellas that make for some pretty stunning photos.”
Cooler Temps at Night:
“Worried about covering up your gorgeous dresses with jackets? Accessorize with furry shrugs or custom jean jackets for you and your bridesmaids.”
Mud? No Problem
“If you’re worried about muddy spring grass, we have multiple locations for your cocktail hour! The herb garden, bonfire area, and even the barn make for great cocktail hour spaces.”
SUMMER
Warmer Days = Sweat:
“There is nothing better than a warm summer day… unless you’re in a three-piece suit. Lighter weight suits or alternative groomsmen styles are a great option in the summertime and keep the guys looking and feeling cool.”
Sunny Ceremonies:
“Natural light makes for great photos but what about the guests? We provide parasols and hand fans to keep guests from getting too much sun.”
Be Smitten, Not Bitten:
“No need to worry about mosquitoes, Heritage Prairie Farm provides bug spray for your guests.”
FALL
Chilly Cocktail Hour:
“Don’t let a brisk fall day stop your guests from enjoying some fun and games. Enjoy our selection of lawn games around the bonfire and grab a cocktail in the greenhouse.”
Less daylight = Unique Lighting:
“Heritage Prairie Farm provides a variety of votive candle holders to fill up the room with soft, romantic candlelight. Plus, we now have macrame candle holders to hang by the cocktail lawn!”
Chilly Night on the Farm:
“Worried about chilly October nights? You don’t have to! We provide heaters so your guests can dance the night away in our 5 Peak Century Tent.”
