We asked Tess about their big day and what it was like planning a celebration at Heritage Prairie Farm, so check out the details below!

When did you first meet?

“We first met in collegeWe were both waiting in line to get into a bar and Collin and his friends were standing in front of me and I couldn’t help but laugh at their jokes and comments.”

What do you love most about your partner?

“What I love most about my husband is honestly the way he makes me feel; so loved and complete.”

The ladies got ready in the bridal suite while the guys spent time together in the groom’s lounge.

What first drew you to choose Heritage Prairie Farm for you celebration venue?

“What drew us both in was the outdoor space and amazing food. We were set in finding a venue that was outdoor with lots of open space. The day that we toured the venue, we both turned to each other on our way out and said ‘I think this is the place!'”

The couple shared their first look in the rustic barn before the ceremony.

The ceremony location was glowing with twinkle lights and featured macrame pieces.

What did you enjoy most about the planning process with Heritage Prairie Farm?

“What I liked most was how detailed your coordinator, Liz, was and so easy to communicate with. She was so laid back and flexible with her time.”

What were your favorite moments of the day?

“Gosh, it’s really true what they say “it’s going to fly by”. There are so many memories that are still flashing back into my mind l, but a few that stand out the most are the last song our dj played “good old days” by Macklemore and most of our friends and family circled around Collin and I as we danced and sang.”

“Another favorite moment of the day was when the look on my Opa’s (grandpas) face when we were listening to Frank Sinatra in the Grooms lounge before the ceremony- so happy and full of life. I will also cherish my first dance with my Dad. We didn’t practice dancing once and did such a great job- it also allowed for my Dad to have one on one time with me.”

Anything you would do differently? Advice to future brides?

“My advice to future brides is not to let yourself get wrapped up the minor details and keep focused on what really matters- the friends and family who took the time to celebrate your day. It can’t be so easy to sink into a stress trap because of all the planning and you can lose sight of enjoying this important day in your life.”
